A diverter converts the analog signals to digital elivating radiation and cosmic rays from interfering

I found this article to be very interesting with changing the analog signal to a digital signal before much interference occurs. This is what the tv watching world is experiencing with the BIG switch. Not that I truly understand, but visually I see the results. Cameras in space must be using some of the same technology.

A second attempt

The working collage, I am just feeling my way around illustrator. I just discovered how to crop after spending too much time trying to figure it out. R&D is never billable.

Background image for the collage

This is a illustration trace of Jim's Sand

This is Photo that was taken By Jim Elbrecht. Jim took a picture of dunes that he manipulated. I though it would be a great background to fit in with mars research. I had to take the very large formatted photo and reduce it twice in order to get Illustrator to trace it.

Mars Rovers: The Next Generation

I have been very interested in the rovers that they have sent to Mars. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology is scheduled to launch in September of 09 a new Mars Science laboratory called Curiosity. It will be using different technology then the previous two. It will be using nuclear power instead of solar power to power it.

This mission is focused on analyzing air, rock and soil samples on Mars. Some of the instruments that will be used are an, X-ray diffraction instrument, ultraviolet light, Mars Hand lens Imager (viewing details smaller then a strand of hair), higher zoom lens, Mast cam (for storing HD video in stereo). The most impressive piece of equipment is coming from a working collaboration with France . It is The ChemCam, a laser that will be directed at soil and rock samples. It will produce a vapor that the rest of the instruments will get to analyze in their own way.

I am not as interested in whether there is life on Mars as the scientific study of the rocks and soil that it will yield. For more on MSL here is the link to the article: Mars Rovers: The Next Generation. It should be interesting.

illustration logos

After doing the cut out of the glasses. It gave me a better perspective of creating a logo and realizing that my first attempt at this assignment was not right. This is the 2nd attempt. I sort of stylized the glasses using shapes and created the logo words Glass2 to go with each of the designs.
